Update from the land June 22

Please keep dogs on a leash due to wolves and mama bears in the area.

Please no soap in or around lakes and water sources

All parking is along the road. 1/3 of handicamp parking area was taken over by forest service for admin parking. Please call forest service office to complain. Send this info to media.

Parking is on one side of the road only.

Iron River is friendly but watch speed limit

First court date is on Washburn WI on Monday June 24 at Federal Courthouse. If you can attend please be there to support.

Many kitchens have agreed to post info on how they are treating water so gatherers can choose water that meets their own needs.

Great site for carts and bikes

Warm days cool nights

Do not tie things to Oak trees. When bark peals off fungus is entering and killing oaks. Sometimes many at a time as they can be connected by roots

Don't molest birch trees or peel off bark

When driving be careful. Lots of deer in the area. Turtles crossing the road. Honk for rabbits or they won't move out of the way.

Please do not swim in Canthook lake as we are using lake water for drinking. There should be a trail marked to another swimming lake across the road from handicamp

Please share this info to all points!

DOG OFF-LEASH ? Remember Oregon . Dog shot dead by USFS - dog stood protective of sleeping children . Wolves and bears and moose will sensibly exit the gathering area . Beware of squirrels .

  2. Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm looking to start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

    1. No there's not and stop the fear mongering, the last place they want to be is around lots of people, but leaving food out and such will greatly up the chance of having to deal with them.

I look forward to comments that avoid racist, sexist, homophobic, and/or other 'ism' language that does not advocate violence.
